BCA (Bachelors in Computer Application)
BCA is the course that is affiliated with TU. In this
course, we will have to study for 4 years, on a semester basis i.e. for 8
semester. If you have graduated from management or Science faculty in your +2
level, then you are eligible to study this course. You need to have a basic understanding of
IT, if you’re thinking to join BCA. Even if you don’t have basic knowledge
about IT don’t get disheartened,
gradually after passing each semester you will have an idea about it.
At the beginning of the semester, that means at the first
semester you can ace easily only if you spend some time reading the coursebook
as well as attending daily class as per the schedule. You’ll have to study five
different subjects that are: Computer Fundamental & Application, Society and
Technology, English I, Math I, and Digital Logics. Computer Fundamental &
Application is the subject in which you will learn about the basic terms used
in the computer. Society and Technology is the subject that deals with the concepts
of society, community, family, and many more. English I deals with technological
English, where you have to learn about different technological topics related
to computers. Math I also contains the basic concepts of math such as sets,
permutation & combination, and so on. Digital Logic is quite difficult in
this semester as compared to other subjects, but if you put a little more
effort into this subject you can nail it.
At second semester you will learn about C Programming,
Financial Accounting, English II, Mathematics II and Microprocessor and
Computer Architecture. In C programming you will learn the basic ideas of
writing program in C language using TURBO or Dev. Financial Accounting is easy
for the students who have come for management faculty, it may be a little tough
for science faculty students, but at the end of the day, it’s not that
difficult. English II contains topics like fax writing, letter writing,
email writing notice writing, memo, and 5 kinds of science fiction stories.
Mathematics II includes the topics from calculus and computational methods such
as limit and continuity, differentiation & its application, integration and
its application, and so on. Microprocessor and Computer Architecture contains an introduction to microprocessors and computer architecture. It covers the topic
in both the physical designs of the computer and the logical design of a computer.
At the third semester you will learn about OOP in Java, Data structure and Algorithm, Probability and Statistics, Web Technology and System Analysis, and Design. OOP in java covers the basic part of java programming. DSA includes the basic concept of data structure such as stack, queue, list, linked list, tree, and so on. In Probability and statistics you will learn the basic concepts of statistics, probability, Sample survey, and so on. Web technology covers basics concepts like HTML, CSS, Issues of web technology, and so on. In System Analysis and A design, you will learn about the concepts related to information systems development in a systematic approach including analysis design, implementation, and maintenance.
